About Formby Golf Club
Formby Golf Club, situated on England’s Golf Coast, is a championship links with a rich history dating back to 1884. Originally a 9-hole layout by Willie Park Jr., the course evolved through contributions from golf’s greatest architects including James Braid, Harry Colt, and Donald Steel.
Architectural Excellence
The course benefited from legendary designers over the decades. Donald Steel’s 1980s updates extended it beyond 7,000 yards while maintaining its classic character. The layout offers a distinctive blend—primarily links traversing mature sand dunes, yet with parkland touches amid heather and pine.
Championship Pedigree
Formby has hosted the Amateur Championship, PGA Seniors Championship, and multiple international fixtures. The impressive clubhouse, voted 12th most iconic in the world, reflects the club’s prestigious standing. Set within a designated nature reserve home to red squirrels and rare wildlife, every round is a journey through golfing and natural history.
